Invisalign is a popular alternative to braces and is used to achieve a straighter smile. Invisalign uses customised clear aligners to move teeth into the desired position. These virtually invisible aligners are also removable which poses no restrictions to eating habits and cleaning significantly easier than braces. It is recommended to wear these aligners for 20-22 hours daily for optimal results and teenager’s aligners even come with blue compliance indicators to ensure they are being worn consistently. There are no wires or brackets, reducing the number of emergency visits that typically occur with braces when a wire comes loose or a bracket falls off.

Aligners are typically worn for one to two weeks. It is entirely normal for teeth to feel discomfort or extra pressure for a few days when wearing new aligners. The progress of your teeth should be checked in scheduled appointments approximately every six to eight weeks.

Invisalign can fix the following issues:

  • overbite
  • underbite
  • crossbite
  • gap teeth
  • open bite
  • crooked teeth

Invisalign requires a consultation before receiving the treatment. If you think this treatment is ideal for you, please contact us and book an appointment with our certified Invisalign provider Amy Daley.

Cleaning your aligners

To keep your aligners fresh and clean, rinse them nightly and gently brush them with a toothbrush. Take them out before eating/drinking and brush your teeth before reinserting. To keep your aligners clear, use the Invisalign cleaning system.
